Sterile reconstitution solution — 0.9% benzyl alcohol

Bacteriostatic Water is sterile, filtered water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, the standard solution for reconstituting lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth inside the vial, allowing the contents to be drawn from multiple times over an extended period without contamination.

Unlike single-use sterile water, BAC water remains stable for up to 28 days after first puncture when stored properly, making it the preferred choice for research applications that require multiple draws from the same vial.
